Well so far for my TI-84 plus, I found 2 "DOOM-clones." Those two are the French DOOM (f.DOOM from now on) and the zDoom. So let me compare the two for you. The zDoom has more of the classic "DOOM" look, and plays somewhat like the DOOM we all know and love. On the other hand, the f.DOOM looks somewhat like the orignal DOOM, but the HUD is on the right side. I personally prefer the f.doom's HUD but if you want a classic look download this one. The difficulty is about the same despite the claims that f.doom is harder. (Most people don't know this.) In f.DOOM, you start out with a pistol and a automatic rifle. In zDoom, you acquire the weapons. For more info read my review of f.DOOM.

Concept - 10/10

revive the classic DOOM on your TI-83, and 84+

Playability - 10/10

The controls are simple and easy to memorize, and the difficulty setting actually changes the monster's AI.

Graphics - 9/10

The monsters actually look like the DOOM monsters. 3D engine works nicely here (it takes some time to get used to it if you're new to ASM-3d engine) However, the pillars my seem like a monster and cause you to shoot at them.

Special - 9/10

Fear Factor is nicely put into the game. If you are walking down the alley and you suddenly see your health decline, you turn around, and BAM! a monster's there. It's one of the best moments of caculator gaming.

Replay Value - 10/10

It's a classic!

Few games compare to “Doom” on the computer. Not only did it revolutionize the way first-person shooters were viewed, it also set the stage for all the great games to compare to. Much like with the modern game, “Halo”. To harness that revolution on the calculator, that “Doom” aura, you, my friend, should get “zDoom”.

Not only is it a true apprentice to the original game, it also makes me want to give the programmer a big pat on the back for the magnificent job. Even if there is only one enemy type, the fact that it actually looks like a “Doom” monster nearly sent me flying to the back of my geo class!

Graphics- 8 out of 10
I would have given it a 9 out of 10, had it not been for the pillars that I would waste 20 rounds on, thinking it was a big mean “Doom” thing.

Speed- 9 out of 10
Let me shoot my pistol more than once per 5 seconds when confronted with a monster. Other than that little snag, excellent.

Special (Creepy Factor)- 10 out of 10
If you suddenly are walking along and you start to see very brief flashes of white across your screen, and you turn around to face off with 2 goulies with only a pistol, you have done the best any calculator programmer could do for scary.

Overall- 9 out of 10
A little room for adding a monster or two, other than that, my hat is off to you. Download ASAP.

The first thing that impressed me was the “zDoom”'s smoothness. Now, this is a big deal because unevenness of the keys ruins the whole game; that is why this is the only 3D game I have ever kept on my calc.

Also, the difficulty choice is an added bonus. It actually affects the enemy AI, not just how little or how much damage they do.

I definitely recommend this game not just for math class. Get it now.

"zDoom v0.10" is probably one of the best 3D shooters around. It features a fully working 3D engine and super-fast rendering. This program is definitely better now with more realistic enemies that will run at you.

There is still a problem with the shooting through walls bit, but this is not a major problem, because usually you can see an enemy before they shoot you. Another problem is that the walls/objects/enemies will disappear if you aren't looking at them the right way. They will still be there, but they will not be visible on the screen. You must move around to see them again. If something could be done to allow for these items to be viewed at all times (within a given radius or something - as it is now, some items far away can be seen while others that are closer seem to disappear.) This would make the levels a lot easier to navigate through.

Graphics: 7/10 needs work on the disappearance
Speed: 10/10
Replay Value: 10/10
Originality: 10/10 the only “Doom” game I've seen for the 83+
Overall: 37/40 Excellent job
