Attention span: 8/10 You fight other stuffed animals!
Controls: 9/10 Pretty basic, easy to learn.
Implementation: 6/10 Make it scroll like Zelda :)
Overall: 8/10 Fun to tell others about.

This game is a walk-around, explore-type game, where the object is to increase your Pokemon's rating in battle by fighting other Pokemons. There's a store where you can buy weapons, tools, etc., as well as a training "gym" where there are some other kids with Pokemons to fight with. The game has a "load" feature, where you can resume a game where you left off when the teacher looked your way. It also includes an option for grayscale or black and white, both of which are adequate for the game. Everything in the world is laid out on a grid, and the screen scrolls constantly with your character in the center, rather than a new screen each time your character exits the previous one. Although I have never played the Gameboy version of this, playing this somewhat reminded me of Zelda, but without the cool stuff. I admit, finding other kids so you can have a battle between each other's Pokemon's is pretty funny, but I think there's a better waste of time in class. For one, the constant scrolling is unnerving. It refreshes the screen everytime the character moves a block, which slows down the game and looks bad on the screen. In addition, if you play against other kids, odds are that you will play a Pokemon with the same name as yours. This ends up in confusion, not exactly knowing who won the battle. There are a few glitches in the game, graphic-wise, but I believe that's from playing it under DoorsOS, although the game was written for Plusshell. It crashed my calculator after playing it the first time when I tried to exit the program. Overall, I think it's fun, but needs some improvement.
