Attention span: 8/10 Great for Minesweeper fans. Controls: 7/10 2nd should uncover, not shift. Implementation: 10/10 Very good version of Minesweeper. Overall: 9/10 A very good game.
DeMine V1.0, by Gervaise Philippe (a.k.a. Candy Man) is a minesweeper-style game. The objective is to uncover all non-mined squares without ever clicking on a mine.
This is a very well-made game. It features easy, medium, and hard difficulty levels, as well as a high score for each. The title is in grayscale, though the actual game isn't. You have to move around a cursor on the grid of squares. 2nd marks the square (used for marking mines), and shift uncovers it, as well as all non-mines around it. When the cursor is on an uncovered piece, a status in the lower left corner displays how many mines are within one piece of it. It would be nice if the number was displayed on the actual square, but this is forgivable. Also, there is a timer (used in the high score), and a ratio of blocks uncovered to total blocks.
This game is very addicting and I recommend it to anybody who enjoys Minesweeper for Windows. |
