Note! This review was written for a previous version of this file!
I just downloaded the demo of the actual VVVVVV on my computer, and this actually does look like the actual game!
Gameplay: 9/10
This stays true to the original VVVVVV, but for some reason, I hit the spikes even when I didn't actually fall into them, I just stood on the edge of a platform when they were next to it.
Controls: 9/10
The controls are nice and easy to learn, but it would be nice if the author could, like the original, make up and down flip the character, too.
Graphics: 10/10
Good as a calculator can get.
Level Design: 8/10
Not all of the "levels" are implemented, just a few. But the levels that are implemented, they play just like the original (well, with a few changes).
Replay Value: ??/??
I didn't finish it yet. But the game is very challenging, and I would definitely like to play it again. I don't know how to rank this part.
Features: 7/10
Gameplay is the same as the original, but it would be nice to incorporate the actual names of the "levels" like Barani Barani, In a Single Bound, Conundrum, etc. Also, there should be a storyline, like the original. Or maybe a level editor. I don't know, they would be nice to include.
I shouldn't be so hard on you for that, this IS a demo. ;-)
Overall: 43/50
This is a good game, a must-download for fans of classic games.
