Title Chess v1.2
Description Here it is, the best chess game for the 84+. Featuring the best grayscale seen yet in an 84+ game, a moderately challenging AI, 2-player mode, saving an unlimited number of games, a game clock, custom starting positions, and checkmate/stale mate. This game offers just about everything you could want in a chess game. Sorry, it doesn't work on the 83+BE or the Nspire :(. Updated for 2023 TI-84+ LCDs.

So this was the first game I got on my calculator. I still have it after running through about 30 different games. Right now I have about 20 games, and play about 15 often.

Graphics 10/10

Okay, I don't know how grey-scale can look so good. It is at par with Reuben Quest (It's really good). All of the drawings are clear and you can easily tell the pieces apart.

Game-play 8/10

So the AI is "moderately challenging". Not really. Its way harder. Now I'm not a bad chess-player, but there has been about 2 times I FAIRLY (about 10 fool's checkmates) beat the AI. If you are HORRIBLE at chess, I guess you could use the board editor to give yourself a handicap. like remove a bishop or something. I dunno

Features 10/10

This thing is loaded with features. There is a game timer setting. Haven't used it, but its cool. There is stalemate, checkmate, and check options. It also highlights the available moves for each piece. Very handy. It has calibrating of graphics, and a 50 move stalemate rule option. In a 2-player game, you can choose to switch the screen or not. You will understand once you download this. Oh, one more thing. INFINITE SAVES. I'm gonna let that sink in.... one more time. INFINITE SAVES!!! They are from 100-150 archive bytes.

Small downside is that it takes a tidbit of time to exit.

---------------Overall---------------

So no matter HOW good you are at chess, you had better download this. You are missing something great. It comes at a slightly large size of 10402, but it will be well worth It. Bravo, Brian Coventry. Bravo.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!DOWNLOAD IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
