Best program yet! I have been searching for a stand-alone music program for my calculator, and this one had instant success. Sure, it could use a quicker input interface, but I'm completely satisfied. |

This is an excellent little application. I wish it were still in development. It would be great to have simpler pitch/rhythm input (similar to modern PC composition programs), as well as larger sound range and smaller duration. The ability to play multiple notes simultaneously would be spectacular (or, in this case, "autacular"?), but it'd probably be good to get a more versatile single-pitch player first.
Despite the obvious deficiencies, I rate this 9/10. |

Music Station is great. With the ability to see the music, it makes playing the sounds correctly so much easier. The only things I might change are the fact that this is a Flash App and you can't play two notes at once. However, even with the little downfall of taking more memory and the potentially difficult two-note implementation missing, Music Station isn't bad at all. I give this program a 9/10. |

This is quite suitable for transporting, sharing, and creating music for just about any instrument other than the piano. It is very quick and easy to create sheets of music with this app, even as the first program of its kind created. I recommend this for novice composers/artists who want to input a melody and hear it in real-time. I don't own a 2.5 mm headphone set, but I trust this apps functionality.
Just a few concerns:
-This could use an "octave skip" key to speed up note taking. Notes far from the treble line are tedious to input, even with its continuous scroll.
-Is there a converter program for a computer that can translate the files into .MIDI? That is the only way I'll actually hear my music.
-Beats per minute is a good measure of tempo, but bars showing time (3/4, 4/4, 6/8, etc.) could be added to clarify the specific timing each of us may want.
Overall, I rate the March 8th, 2004 version a 9.2/10. |
