Bike 3D v2.0
|
Description
|
This program lets you race a *3D* bike down a randomly-created trail using the ReaL3D Engine. Use the arrows to steer the bike; when you have gone 100 blocks you will reach the finish line and can continue for bonus points. Go of the road, however, and you lose. This version represents a huge improvement over the previous iteration, offering much more challenging gameplay, two difficulty levels, the ability to view your highscore, and speed and size optimizations.

Note! This review was written for a previous version of this file!
Bike 3D is certainly an interesting idea, and is also very innovatively carried out. You race a bike down a track, and it really does have 3D (albeit sparse) graphics. Though it may be original in terms of idea and also aesthetic pleasure (especially in BASIC), I dont think the gameplay is that good. The main problem in the gameplay is the lack of user participation in winning the race. What I mean, is that you can start the program, place the bike in a strategic place, and sit and watch your points rack up. You can literally sit for five minutes without pressing any buttons, without hitting the wall. The road may curve to the left or to the right, but inexplicably, you dont hit anything.
So as graphically pleasing as this is, and as fun as the idea could be, the game is not worth playing at all. The only reason to play might be let the game improve on your high score for you, but since you have no way of viewing your old high score, don't bother. |
